We have let adults define who we are long enough. They describe us as teenagers which in their terms means a young person that has most of the desires and abilities as an adult but hasn’t any responsibilities or expectations to be able to perform as an adult. I look at the mess this world is in and hold the adult population responsible.
We at kidsnChrist are a collection of young people who have joined together for the same cause – to imitate the character of Jesus Christ. We recognize that there isn’t any good coming out of adults today so we regenerate our mind and our life style to set the example for others to follow. We are the true leaders of this world.
In 1 Corinthians 13:11 The apostle Paul said, “ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Now he didn’t say that when I became a teenager I looked like an adult and acted like a child. This is an illusion that adults have created to keep us from reaching our full potential. They have created a space in time to leave us wandering in childish things while our mind is fully capable of setting an example to others in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Remove from your life the childless things that adults have created to lazy away our time. Set aside video games, television and child play. I am not saying that these things don’t have there place. I am saying they are taking us away from our destiny, our ability to serve God. They are taking us away from our bible study, our prayers and our worship of our Creator and our Savior and our God. So whose expectations should we live by. We live in a
culture that wants to tell us how to act, how to look and how to think. They bombard us from every media angle possible trying to define our character for their financial gain, but we look at the world at it is a mess!
The bible says for good reason, “ And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” You are living in the turning point of time. You are at the cross roads of your life. What decisions you make now will affect you for eternity. This preconceived notion that we shouldn’t have to grow up until we are thirty. That it is okay for full grown men and women to dress, talk and party as they did when they were teenagers is for losers. These adults that go from date to date, job to job having meaningless relations with others are going nowhere. Here again the bible says, “ It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth.” Lamentations 3:27. “The glory of young men is their strength.” Proverbs 20:29.
We are constantly trying to define our character to show to all that we are an individual, however a short walk through a high school reveals that every body pretty much dresses and acts alike. Here at kidsnChrist we want you to develop the created individuality that God placed in you before the foundations of the earth was laid. You do that by taking on the difficult things of life. Do things that you are not comfortable doing. Challenging yourself to go beyond normal thinking by dressing modestly and walking in a upright character. By saying no to the popular positions of the day like homosexuality, abortion and filthy trash talking. Do more than what is expected of you. Help our your
Mom with the chores around the house. Volunteer at church and school to develop basic work ethics. Study hard to get good grades, not only are you benefitting yourself but you are setting an example for others to follow. Take on a project that is to big for you to accomplish on your own. Form a ministry team and set a group goal to serve others at church and school. Every time we do something that is right it builds character. If we can’t trust God now when will we be able too ever make a difficult decision in our life.
Today is the day of Salvation. I want you to begin a new life today. You are no longer a child who is a slave to impulses. Surrender your will to Jesus Christ and become a follower of His good habits because they are the key to success. Study your bible every day because this helps your new life grow in faith.
Start every day with love in your heart. This is your greatest weapon against evil. Forgive those who have wronged you and do not hold resentment against them. Encourage those around you and remove all barriers of suspicion and hate. Protect your body, mind and heart from permitting evil to enter and from this day forward you will love one another as you have loved yourself.
Never give up! Recognize that you are tested every day. Always stay focused on the task at hand because the prize of life is at the end of the journey. You do not know how many steps it takes to succeed. You may still encounter failure on the hundredth step, but success may just be one step away. Always proceed to the next step and never no not ever give up.
Live every day like it will be your last chance to succeed. Never concern yourself about yesterdays failures, hurt feelings or defeats. All you are doing is throwing good after bad. Do not concern yourself with tomorrow because tomorrow never comes. Live for today, because each hour is a precious piece of time that can never be replaced.
Take control of your emotions. Keep an even keel. Don’t let yourself get to high or to low. Try to stay cool under fire, calm when others are out of control. Collect your thoughts before you speak, guarding the feelings of others. Bring joy and happiness to those around you. These things can only be found with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Success without happiness is a quagmire of the adult so always look for laughter and happiness in the fruits of your labor because God gave the ability of laughter to no other creature on earth except us. Learn to laugh and not take yourself to seriously and long life shall be yours. Don’t let a heavy heart get you down or get to confident when success comes your way because al these things will pass.
All your plans and dreams are of no value unless you take action now. Recognize that inaction is the fear of failure and to conquer this fear you must not hesitate to take immediate action. Only action determines your value and unless you act you will perish in a sea of failure. Your success can not wait another day. You must act now ! This is the day that God has chosen for you. This is the time to begin the rest of your life. Act now!
